HTC M9 With 20MP Camera, Dolby 5.1 audio and First Smartwatch Coming March
Bloomberg: HTC M9 With 20MP Camera and First Smartwatch Coming March
Bloomberg is reporting that HTC will launch a new flagship phone in March, with heavily updated camera and audio features, alongside its first ever smartwatch.
The new M9 flagship phone will apparently feature a 20-megapixel rear camera and an HTC UltraPixel front camera. The handset is said to resemble last year's M8 in size and design, though this time it will feature Qualcomm eight-core Snapdragon 810 processor and Dolby 5.1 audio. It will, apparently, be available in gold, gray and silver options. How unusual!
Elsewhere, the report explains that HTC will also soon release its first smartwatch, which will link up with Under Armour's fitness service. There are few other details about the watch.
It's suspected that these new products will be officially announced around the time of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in the first week of March. Let's wait see! [Bloomberg]
Top Best 10 Gadgets For Home Controlled by Smartphone
Here are our Top Best 10 Gadgets For Home Controlled by Smartphone
Today’s smartphones let you do all sorts of ingenious things and the phone function is the least interesting one. You can do your shopping from your phone, you can make notes, control the lights in your home or the security system. Let’s see what else allows you your smartphone to do.
Automatic pet feeder.
Did you know that you can feed your pet from your phone? We’re not talking about ordering pet food online but about actually controlling the pet feeder from the smartphone. It’s all possible thanks to Pintofeed, a contemporary pet feeder that provides food for your pet automatically. All you have to do is connect the feeder to a smartphone and install the Pintofeed app.
The app will gather info about your pet’s feeding schedule and it will create one for dispending food. The best thing about this device is that it allows you to feed your pet when you’re not at home. So if you want to spend the weekend somewhere else just let the device and the app take care of the pet.
Wemo Light Switch.
The fact that you can control the lights in your home with the smartphone is no secret anymore but do you know how this actually works? Well, one option would be to use the Wemo Light Switch from Belkin. Just replace your existing light switch with the Wemo one and you’ll be able to control the lights remotely from any corner of the world via WiFi.
The app that allows you to do this can be downloaded for free on your smartphone or tablet. The app allows you to create schedules that will automatically turn on the light at a certain hour or that will program the lights to go out at a certain time.
WeMo Baby Monitor.
The smartphone can also be useful for parents by allowing them to use it as a baby monitor. The idea is very practical and very ingenious. You no longer have to carry the traditional baby monitor with you wherever you go and you no longer have to worry about the batteries running out in the middle of the night.
All you have to do now is get the Wemo Baby by Belkin. It allows you to turn your iPhone, iPad or iPod into a baby monitor. It has a monitor that streams audio of your baby up to 6 devices simultaneously so you won’t have to be the only one to worry about the baby. It works via Wi-fi and it also has the option of notifying you when the baby cried via text message or email. It also keeps a history and analyzes the sleep pattern of your baby.
STAYConnect app!
Did you know that there’s an app that can make your travels and your stay at the hotel easier and more pleasant than ever? It’s called STAYConnect and it allows you to basically turn your Android or iOS device into a remote control.
You’ll be able to use it on the TV or to order movies into your room. You’ll also be able to check out using the app. You can use the app in over 630,000 hotel rooms across the US in hotels like the Hilton, Hampton Inn, Marriott and many others. The app allows you to do the following: control the TV, order movies and entertainment, find info about the hotel and request housekeeping or room service.
WeMo Home Automation Switch.
If you found the other two devices from Belkin useful then you’ll most likely like this one too. This one is called Wemo Switch and it’s a device that allows you to control your electronics from anywhere via your smartphone. It works on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and you can download the app for free.
Using the device is evry simple. You just plug it into an outlet and then plug any device into the switch. You can add additional switches to control more devices. The app will allow you to check if you left the oven on or to turn off any other device you might accidentally have forgotten about when leaving the house.
Lockitron.
How many times did you have to sit in front of your house looking for your keys and how many times did you wonder if you locked the door or not when you left the house? It happens to everyone and it’s because we are still using keys, even when technology has evolved so much. So how about we ditch the keys and lock our doors from out smartphone instead? It sounds futuristic and it certainly is.
This is Lockitron, a device that allows you to have a keyless entry. It’s an attachment you can place on the back of any lock in the house. It allows you to lock and unlock them automatically and remotely via your smartphone. And when you’re returning home you won’t even to use your phone to unlock the door because it will detect you via Bluetooth.
August smart lock.
Smart Lock is a somewhat similar option. It’s an app controlled home security device which also allows you to have a keyless entry. It allows you to lock and unlock your door via app or automatically using a sensor. But this device also brings something new.
In case you have common visitors you’ll be able to grant them time-connected access privileges that offer them automatic entry when approaching the door. You allocate them a time slot and once it has passed they lose the access privileges. Also, in case of a power outage, you’ll still be able to lock and unlock the door. Also, you’ll still be able to use keys for that.
DoorBot wireless doorbell.
Another great privilege that your smartphone offers is the ability to have a wireless doorbell which is perfect for when you’re away, working in the garden or when you simply don’t hear the regular doorbell.
This smart doorbell also has a camera that transmits live video and audio through an app so you’ll be able to see who’s at the door and to communicate with them. The DoorBot it’s actually very useful in many different cases. The interesting thing is that you’ll be able to that from anywhere in the world so you’ll know if anyone’s at your door even when you’re somewhere else.
Tile app.
If you’re the type that usually loses things or misplaces them, the solution to the problem is very simple. All you have to do is use Tile App.It’s a tracking device that can be attached to any object and lets you find it with your smartphone.
Of course, you would have to basically predict which item will get lost but you can just attach the device to the thing that are most likely to get lost around the house such as the keys, your phone, your wallet, etc. Tile app will tell you how close you’re getting to the item and you can monitor up to 10 different items on your smartphone.
iDoorCam.
Similar to the wireless doorbell we’ve just presented you is also this device. It’s called iDoorCam and it does almost the same thing. It’s a high-tech device that notifies you whenever there’s someone at your door even when you’re not at home.
This way you can monitor your entrance when you’re in vacation or at the office and you can keep track of unwanted guests. You can actually see the persons at the door and talk with them. In case you don’t feel like having them over you can simply ignore them and you won’t have to go all the way to the door where they might hear or see you. It’s also a great home security device.
Hue.
Another great device controlled via smartphone is Hue. Offered by Phillips, Hue is a personalized wireless lighting system. It lets you control the lights in your home using your phone. You can change the color of the lights, dim them, turn them off or turn them on and it’s all done easily at the touch of a button.
You would have to purchase the Hue Bridge which is basically the central command station as well as wireless LED bulbs. They come in many different colors and allow you to instantly change the mood in your home from bright to romantic or to fun in a second. Everything is controlled from the phone using the free app.

How to link your phone to your home appliances wirelessly
Phones are controlling more Gadgets in our Homes, Take a look at this offering:-
Flic is a wireless button that controls everything
by Caitlyn
We all wish there was an “easy button” for different aspects of our lives. It would be awfully convenient if we could just press a button, and then relationship, work, and other problems in life would just disappear. While you can’t whisk away issues with people, you can make other parts of life far easier. Our smartphones have certainly made things more streamlined, but they can’t do everything for us.
If you wish you had easy buttons all over the place, you can get Flic. This is a wireless button that can control a variety of different things for your daily life. The only limitations are your imagination. You can control lights, use it as shutter control for your phone, as a snooze button, to play music, send distress signals, and much, much more. These can integrate with normal or smart homes alike, but can also be used in an office or outdoor setting as well.
To set a specific task to a button, just open the app, press the button, and assign it a job. Every time you press it after that, it will do whatever you set it as. It has a backing that can be stuck anywhere you think it would be the most appropriate, but it can be moved if need be. This will work with iOS and Android, and if you have more ideas about integration, you can get the developer kit. While you can get one Flic for $23, the idea is to have these all over the place. You’ll likely want to get anywhere between 4-6 of these to get the most out of them, which will cost $89-99.
This is currently available for crowdfunding on indiegogoContinue reading » Flic is a wireless button that controls everything
